Haydon Wick unveils plans for new and improved skate park

Posted on 3rd January, 2020 in News

Haydon Wick Parish Council is delighted to have received confirmation that the Certificate of Lawfulness has been granted for the renovation of Haydonleigh Skate Park.

Councillors met with regular skate park users early last year and came up with a list of aspirations that they’d like to see in the new and improved skate park. After a year of planning the designs, meeting with suppliers, putting the design out to tender and the last hurdle of the application being granted… we cannot wait for the renovation to get started!

Work will be undertaken early this year and the Council is working very closely with Haydonleigh Primary School, who were very impressed with the plans and will be creating a group of ‘Skate Park Ambassadors’ who will be trained by professionals to help us protect the site and teach new tricks.

The skate park is designed in such a way it can be used with skateboards, scooters, bikes and wheelchairs and to suit a range of ages and abilities.

We can now unveil our plans in a 3D model so that you can see just how much of an impressive structure this will be within our parish.
