Photos of the painted hoardings & decoration of the fence by Haydon Wick Primary School to Commemorate the end of WW1

9th November, 2018

Thank you to Marilyn & Chris Trew who as spent the morning painting the hoardings outside Haydon Wick Parish Council Offices with soldiers and poppies to commemorate the End of WW1.  What a fantastic job and it complements the tree garden and the Tommy figure which has recently been installed.  Memorial Garden update:  More community involvement – this time from the pupils of Haydon Wick Primary School.  Do come along to admire their work and read their touching poems. Huge thanks also to our Councillor, Sarah McDermott, for her vision, inspiration and co-ordination of the project – and of course for all of her hard work behind the scenes.  Thanks also to Councillor Ed Gerrard for braving the cold and helping with the installation of the poppies and poems.              ...

Update on Grass Cutting/Hedge Cutting

3rd October, 2018

The grass cutting in-house team shall soon be beginning their 8th and final cut of the season. Our Contractors are busy cutting the hedges around the parish – from start to finish this should take about a month.  We appreciate that it’s going to look a bit messy whilst they’re in the process of cutting an area but we’ve been assured that they do the initial cut with the flail (no we didn’t know what it was either! – see picture).  After they’ve been around with flail, there’s some work that has to be done by hand to tidy up the edges, and finally someone comes out to inspect and clear up the cuttings.  We’re told this takes a few days so if you see an area still looking a mess after a week please let us know and we’ll speak to them!  Abbey Meads has now been completed and the Haydon End/Taw Hill area will be completed within the next few days.  They will then move onto Haydon Wick/Greenmeadow. If you have any areas that are a cause for concern please do not hesitate to contact the Parish Council – in the first instance via email:...
