Sustainability

Haydon Wick Parish Council has taken a significant step to reduce its environmental impact. Photovoltaic (PV) panels have been installed on the roof and connected to the electricity supply, enabling the Council to produce electricity for use in the Parish Council office.
The work has been supported by a grant from the Low Carbon Buildings scheme, and over its life of around 25 years, is expected to generate income as well as reduce the Councils environmental impact. The panels will produce the most electricity during the spring and summer months, at this time any surplus energy produced will be sold to Southern Electric.
