What We Do

Swindon Borough authority administers most of the main services, however the Parish Council raises money (precept) through The Parish Council tax (included in your Council Tax bill) for any expenditure, which it considers is in the interests of the area (or part) or for the benefit of all or some of the inhabitants. For example: the Community Bus, Leisure Gardens, Haydon Wick Newsletter, Playgrounds and Bowling Green.

The Parish Council is also responsible for the maintenance of play equipment and open spaces within the Parish and is currently waiting to adopt new open space areas and play areas within the Parish.

The Parish Council has the right to be notified of any planning application affecting the area and to make comments, which the planning authority must take into account. Currently the Parish Council is making representations on the Haydon 3 Development and the District Centre Site.
